Just when I think I am fed up with the phony, pseudo-liberal, pretentious, homogeneity so prevalent here in Seattle, I am awed by the physical beauty that exists here.
Lush greenery. Olive trees, cherry trees, apple trees. Blackberry brambles and wild rosemary. Everywhere, complex symphonies of fragrance and color in the flowers that seduce me each time I pass.
And tonight there is a beautiful full moon, encircled by glowing yellow rings and suspended in a sky full of stars.
You can't beat that.

Oooh, take pictures and post them ! I'd love that.
sharon,
technologically, i'm behind the times here but i will try. i don't have a digital camera but maybe i can get access to a scanner.
but, from the little i've seen, the pacific northwest is really beautiful, especially along the coast. and the weather is perfect, rain and all. it's enough to keep a girl here, if there wasn't paris...
I am going to miss being there in about three weeks when the cherry trees start to change to that fiery orange-red color...'round here, we just get yellow, yellow, and oh, yellow.
yes, eunice, but you get the mountains...and soon blankets of snowy whiteness, which i guess i can be nostalgic for now that i don't live in chicago with it's infamous "lake effect snow" and 10 below temperatures...
yeah, but I gotta drive 45 minutes to get there...not that I'm complaining. :)
